Horse racing fans in Canada and Denmark will now be able to enjoy UK horse
racing thanks to new deals between British and Irish horse racing broadcaster,
GBI Racing Ltd, and Canada’s Woodbine Entertainment Group and Denmark’s Danske
Spil AS, respectively.

According to the terms of each deal, British and
Irish horse racing
will now be broadcast directly to Canada and Denmark,
which means horse racing fans in those countries can now enjoy premier UK racing
action from the 60 courses in the UK and 26 courses in Ireland.

Said GBI Racing Chairman, Richard Brooke, ‘We are pleased to announce two
welcome additions to the ever-growing GBI Racing portfolio. North American
racing is among the best in the world, so British and Irish racing is a natural
fit alongside Canada’s racing schedule.

‘We also very much welcome our association with Danske Spil, whose decision
to choose British and Irish racing as its first non-Scandinavian product is a
ringing endorsement of GBI Racing, he said.

GBI Has Exclusive Global Horse Racing Broadcast Rights

GBI Racing, which holds the exclusive global broadcasting rights for horse
racing in Ireland and the UK, can now boast that it broadcasts racing to 40
nations, including Denmark and Canada, which comprises some 1,800 fixtures each
year.

In terms of GBI Racing’s Canadian deal, the races will be broadcast on
Toronto-headquartered Woodbine Entertainment’s Horse Player Interactive TV, a
satellite channel that is beamed to over 135,000 subscribers across Canada.

Said Woodbine Entertainment Wagering Operations Senior Manager, Peter Spoar,
‘We’re excited about this partnership with GBI Racing. Interest in British and
Irish racing is high in Canada and we wanted to give the country’s horse racing
fans the opportunity to watch and wager on some of the finest racing in the
world.

With regards to GBI Racing’s deal with Denmark, horse racing fans in the
Scandinavian country will now be able to bet on Irish and British racing in 220
Danske Spil betting shops across the nation, as well as at Danish racecourses
and over the internet.

Opportunity to offer Danish Punters British and Irish
Races

Said Danske Spil Marketing Coordinator, Morten Kofoed Sorensen, ‘Up until now
Danske Spil has offered betting only on Scandinavian races, and this agreement
gives us the opportunity to offer our punters the big British and Irish racing
events.

‘It also provides the opportunity to offer races at times when there are breaks
in the Scandinavian schedule such as on weekday afternoons. So we are very happy
to have signed this agreement with GBI Racing and it will be a good supplement
to the Scandinavian races, which are mainly trotting contests,’ he said.

Races that horse racing fans in Canada and Denmark can look forward include
those broadcast live from Irish courses including Punchestown, Leopardstown,
Galway, Dundalk and Cork, and those from premier UK courses such as Epsom,
Doncaster, Cheltenham, Ascot and Aintree, which recently staged the 2012 Grand
National.
