New Online Ads in U.S. Promotes U.S. Online Gambling

Is it a sign of the (new) times that the possibility of legalized U.S. online
gambling lie with President Barack Obama and his administration, that pro-online
gambling ads
are being published (unchallenged) in such stalwarts of
American publishing as the Washington Post and several other Capitol Hill
papers?

We here at Online Casino Wizard hope so because it is time that America rejoins
the real world, in terms of passing long overdue laws that permit the American
people to choose for themselves whether or not to gamble online. Much like they
can currently choose for themselves whether to smoke, drink or own a gun.

While there are no guarantees that President Obama and his administration will
remove the current ban that was thrust upon online gambling in late 2006, when
Congress passed the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act (UIGEA),
there is more hope resting on him to make the right decision than his
predecessor.

The online ads in question have been paid for by ‘The Safe and Secure Internet
Gambling Initiative’ group, which is trying to raise awareness and support for
upcoming legislation, the Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection and
Enforcement Act, that is designed to open the way for online gambling.

Specifically, the new Act would allow licensed online gambling operators to
accept U.S. players again, which they have not been since UIGEA was passed in
2006 and passed into law by Bush. For fans of online gambling in the U.S., the
issues are simple – freedom of choice and generate much-needed government
revenues.

In these tough economic times and with President Obama’s proposed healthcare
policies that is expected to increasingly burden American taxpayers, it is a
mystery why the government is not grabbing at any new revenue streams it can
with both hands, especially as the multi-billion online gambling industry is
such a stream.

Consider for a moment that if Americans were allowed to gamble online at
licensed and regulated online gambling websites liable to taxation within the
United States, that the nation could generate between $48.6 billion and $62.7
billion in taxes within the next decade alone. Now if that isn’t comfort food
for thought.
