This week UK interactive gambling group, NetPlayTV plc, announced a new partnership with STV Group plc, Scotland's largest commercial television broadcaster, that will see the launch of a range of live interactive gambling-themed TV shows, including ChallengeJackpot.com and SuperCasino.com.

The new venture will see the Glasgow-based TV channel start to broadcast the gambling TV shows from the beginning of August 2009 in the early hours of Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The new interactive gambling TV shows will be highly publicized through an extensive promotional and advertising campaign.

NetPlayTV, which is considered to be a pioneer of the interactive TV gaming industry, reportedly pays out more than £1 million every day in winnings through its network. Founded by former Thus Group business development director, Martin Higginson, in 2008 NetPlayTV processed gross bets of £243 million.

'I am extremely pleased to have signed this landmark deal with STV,' said Higginson. 'It has always been our aim to broadcast our interactive TV services on a major TV channel. NetPlayTV is uniquely positioned to offer terrestrial broadcasters sustainable, fully regulated, revenue-generating programming.'

Added NetPlayTV business development director, Guy Templer, 'Concluding this deal with STV is a major milestone for UK broadcasting. NetPlayTV is the market leader in licensed interactive gaming and we are pleased to have signed this major deal with Scotland's largest commercial terrestrial broadcaster.'

Said STV Ventures managing director, David Archer, 'We have moved quickly to take advantage of the opportunity to offer an exciting new service to our viewers. NetPlayTV will provide us with a fully regulated service that its players clearly enjoy, and we are very pleased to be working in partnership with them.'

NetPlayTV's live interactive gambling TV shows allow viewers to place cash bets live and in real time on various casino and bingo events. These include placing bets on roulette, where the studio broadcasts a genuine roulette wheel spun by a real croupier, as well as a blackjack table operated by a real dealer.
