William Hill pays out £750,000 in Progressive Jackpots

Since 1934 William Hill has been a successful high street sportsbook in the UK, and when online gambling took off a few short years ago, it was one of the first traditional gambling companies to jump aboard. Since then, William Hill has evolved its wide range of offerings to include a lucrative online casino.

Lucrative for its players that is, after William Hill announced this week that in a single month its online casino - which is powered by state-of-the-art Cryptologic online gambling software - broke all of its previous records by paying out £750,000 in progressive jackpots. Previously, it paid out £500,000 over 6 months.

'We are very pleased as going from paying out half a million pounds on progressive jackpot games in the first half of 2009 to paying out more than £750,000 in just one month has been way above everyone's expectations,' said WilliamHill.com spokesperson, Lili Huang. Payouts have ranged from £20,000 to £114,000.

One of the most recent WilliamHill.com progressive jackpot winners is Joe Siuchung Yip, who owns a Chinese takeaway in Surrey, England. While playing his favorite slot at William Hill for just 80p a spin, he managed to win his way to the game's bonus jackpot round where he won himself a whopping £114,649.

Said William Hill spokesperson Jenni Prest about Joe's jackpot, 'These days eighty pence couldn't even buy you a bag of prawn crackers, but now Joe has got some serious money in his pocket. That's the great thing about progressive jackpots, they grow to life-changing amounts and anyone can potentially win them.'
