Microgaming has long been acknowledged as the world's leading online gambling software developer, and one renowned for its regular new game releases and technological innovations, such as its newly launched Android Air app for smart phones and tablet computers.

An increasing number of gamblers want to gamble online from the safety, security and convenience of high tech or 'smart' devices, and to meet this growing trend, Microgaming has developed its new Android Air app, an Adobe Air-based application that currently boasts eight online casino games.

However, according to the Isle of Man-based online gaming software giant, this is only the beginning, as it has plans to launch no less than 20 more of its most popular games for the Android Air app before the end of the year.

A recent statement on the Microgaming Android Air app launch explained that 'Much like Microgaming's market-leading Viper casino software, new games will be automatically added via a process that is connection state aware, so players can choose to do these updates via WiFi rather than 3G.'

Android Air Games Available in a Slick Lobby

The statement also said that that the Microgaming Android Air games will be made available in a 'slick and user-friendly lobby,' and that the gaming firm has also completely revamped its registration and banking modules, as well as updated its underlying architecture.

This means connections can now be made that directly link with the Microgaming gaming server, allowing players to benefit from its acquisition and retention tools such as Virtual Pit Boss, Player Communication Manager, Player Grouping and Bonus Balance.

Said Microgaming head of products, Neill Whyte, 'Mobile has been a key part of our strategy for the past few years and we already enjoy a strong market share with our existing suite of products. The explosion of mobile gaming over the past year - which has been driven largely by the increased adoption of smartphones in developing countries - is a huge opportunity for providers.

'We feel Microgaming's revolutionary new product [Android Air app] will have a huge impact on the mobile market and gaming industry as a whole. We have the strongest portfolio of gaming assets in the industry, which we can leverage to fully exploit the opportunity that the rapid growth in Android-based smartphones represents,' he said.
